The platform

One integrated system for the whole matter.

From the first consultation to the decision: intake, filing, adjudication and billing, on one case file your whole firm works from.

Docket. Open matters grouped by who has the next move: the firm, the client or the agency.Illustrative case data

1 · Intake and preparation

Gather the facts once. Use them throughout the case.

Questionnaires go to the client through the portal, or your staff complete them on the matter. The answers carry into each supported filing, so your team reviews rather than retypes.

Each filing shows its edition, and CaseVigil can check uscis.gov for a newer one.

  • Every part of the filing, checked off as it is complete
  • The current edition, shown beside the title
  • Review the draft; generate the final PDF when it is ready

2 · Documents and the filing desk

Your team builds the filing. CaseVigil handles the binding.

Each form's instructions become a required-documents checklist on the matter, and clients upload into it from the portal. On the filing desk your team adds forms and exhibits and sets their order; CaseVigil builds the Index of Documents from the packet and combines the whole filing into one PDF.

  • The matter's documents on the left, marked when they are in the filing
  • The filing in the order your team set, starting with the Index of Documents
  • Download the filing as one PDF

3 · Receipts, RFEs and deadlines

Receipts, RFEs and decisions, each on the matter where it belongs.

Receipt notices, RFEs, NOIDs and decisions are recorded on the matter's Adjudication tab, with response dates carried to What's Next and the firm calendar. Communications and Time & Billing are on the same matter.

  • What's Next, with the RFE response date
  • Notices & Decision, one row per USCIS notice
  • Respond and Record, beside each notice

4 · LCA and Public Access File

The Public Access File, built around 20 CFR 655.760.

The filed LCA is kept on the matter, and so is the Public Access File the employer must make available for public examination within one working day of filing. The file has a place for the certified LCA, the documentation of the wage rate to be paid, the actual wage explanation, the prevailing wage documentation, the notice of filing and the benefits summary, and shows as complete only when each has its document.

  • The filed LCA, then each Public Access File document, with its file or “Not on file”
  • The date each document was added

5 · PERM labor certification

PERM as its own matter, with a checklist for every party.

PERM runs as its own matter, stage by stage. The attorney, the employer and the employee each have their own checklist, the employer and employee through the portal, with steps tied to the Part 656 provisions they come from. Filing windows and deadlines are computed from your dates.

  • Stages from consultation through recruitment to pre-filing, and your own stages added
  • A separate checklist for the attorney, the employer and the employee
  • Steps marked with their 20 CFR 656 citations

Vigil

Vigil, the AI built into CaseVigil.

Vigil is CaseVigil's own immigration AI. It works inside the matter your team is already in, and it runs on systems VisaVigilAI operates, so client documents are never sent to outside AI services.

Trained under the supervision of immigration attorneys

Vigil's model is trained for immigration practice, and its answers are reviewed by an immigration attorney who is a board-certified specialist. Where an answer is wrong or incomplete, the correction, with the controlling authority, goes back into what Vigil learns from and the test it is measured against.

For your team, not your clients

Vigil is for attorneys and staff. It provides information from primary sources; it is not legal advice, and the attorney remains responsible for the legal work.

What to expect from Vigil

Vigil is new, and it is still learning. It can be wrong: it can miss an authority, misread one, or state a rule more broadly than the law allows. That is why every answer shows its sources and the date they were checked, so the attorney can confirm them before relying on the answer. Vigil improves as attorney review corrects it, but it is a starting point for research, not a substitute for an attorney's research or judgment.

What Vigil does today

  • Answers research questionsFrom the INA and regulations first, then agency guidance and case law.
  • Cites and dates every sourceEvery answer names its authority and when it was checked.
  • Works from the matter's factsRuns a CSPA, priority date or TEA calculation on the matter's answers when a question calls for one.
  • Organizes incoming documentsNames and places uploads CaseVigil does not recognize; your team can rename or undo.
  • Reads the filing with youAnswers questions about the documents in the packet.

And the rest of the practice.
