VisaVigil · our immigration-law model

A model trained to reason like an immigration lawyer.

Our own model, not a public chatbot with our name on it. Trained by immigration lawyers to answer only from the law, citing every source.

How it thinks

The answer shape, every time.

Ask a general-purpose AI an immigration question and it answers with confidence, even when the rule it gives you does not exist. VisaVigil reads a client's facts the way a specialist does, finds the law that governs them, and answers from that law alone.

  1. Spot the issues. A fact pattern rarely asks one question. VisaVigil names each issue before it answers any of them.
  2. Find the governing law, in order. Statute, then regulation, then agency guidance, then decisions: the order the law binds.
  3. Answer, cite, date. Every statement carries the provision it rests on and the date that provision was read.
  4. Say what is left open. When the facts or the law do not settle a point, the answer says so, and says what would settle it.

Answer

Up to 60 consecutive days to stay in the U.S. without H-1B employment, or until the I-94 ends if sooner. Within that time a new employer may file for you, you may change to another status, or you may leave.

What the facts don't settle

The 60 days are available once per validity period. Whether they were used before is not in the facts.

How it is trained

Taught by a specialist. Graded like a lawyer.

Our own questions

Thousands of fact-pattern questions written by the firm from its own practice, across the whole field.

Expert answers from the library

Each training answer is built from our own law library: the INA, the federal regulations, the agency manuals and precedent decisions. Every citation must resolve in the library.

Taught by a specialist

Fine-tuned (LoRA) on expert answers made to a Certified Specialist’s standard.* The questions, the method of analysis, the order of authority and the house style are the specialist’s own.

Rewarded only for real citations

An answer earns nothing if a cited section does not exist or a quotation does not match its source (reinforcement learning, GRPO).

Tested blind

Each version sits an exam it has never seen, graded blind, with every invented rule counted. A new version goes live only if it does better.

Private

Trained and served on VisaVigilAI's own infrastructure. No client facts reach training.

Where it stands

Live inside CaseVigil.

VisaVigil answers Vigil’s legal questions in CaseVigil today. Training continues, and a new version replaces it only after it passes a blind exam it has never seen.

The library it reads
  • The Immigration and Nationality Act and related titles of the U.S. Code
  • Titles 8, 20, 22, 28, 29, 42 and 45 of the Code of Federal Regulations
  • The USCIS Policy Manual
  • The Foreign Affairs Manual
  • The EOIR Policy Manual
  • USCIS form instructions
  • AAO, BALCA and federal court decisions
  • DOL OFLC guidance

Each source is re-read on a schedule, and every answer carries the date it was read.
